Our family loves to travel. I want to capture our trips in a way that is meaningful and special to our family. On our last two trips, Dillon has been journaling during our trip. We write during our down times. We have written in cabs, trains, and airplanes. Dillon and I really enjoy creating moments to stop on reflect on our adventure.
When we return home, we "publish" his book on the iPad app Book Creator. We can then export the project as a movie. We usually use iMovie to combine the Book Creator project with pictures from our trip. The finished project is a digital artifact that we will cherish forever. We just got home from Japan. Please enjoy Dillon's scrapbook and digital journal from our Japanese adventure.
We had quite the journey to being dads. It was such a rollercoaster that had the ultimate payoff. Below is a "mini-documentary" I created to share our story and journey.
I will use this blog to highlight ideas for iPad use for families. I use the iPad in such fun and innovative ways in my classroom. Now it is time to step it up at home. Enjoy my family's story and enjoy this blog. My hope is that I can help families move from using the iPad as just an iPad but rather use it as a powerful took to document the world around them.
Happy New Year!

Right when we brought Dillon (our oldest son) we quickly realized we needed to think of what he would call us! He quickly named my husband Daddy and upon hearing his 2 year old friend call one of his 2 dads "Doda", Dillon decided on Dodie. After years of constantly lobbying for "Papa", I have grown to love and adore my name Dodie Here is a blog about my journey as Dillon and Jerry's Dodie!
My son Dillon was in foster care for 1,377 Days. We finalized our adoption of this firecracker boy in March of 2015 a few months before his 6th birthday. We are now in the process of adopting Dillon's younger brother "Jerry" from foster care! This blog will help paint a picture of two gay men raising two boys in this every changing world.
